HEIMDALL stands for Multi-Hazard Cooperative Management Tool for Data Exchange, Response Planning and Scenario Building.

The EC-H2020-funded project aims at improving immediate and long-term collaborative strategic planning on a regional scale among the many affected disaster risk management and response stakeholders. In order to support different typical response planning activities involving complex multi-hazard scenarios  a platform has been developed and implemented which integrates a wide range of tools. The main solutions that are provided include:

  1. Support in the creation, analysis and exchange of realistic multi-disciplinary disaster scenarios
  2. Provision of more, better, clearer and validated data
  3. Recording of conditions, actual events and actions as the situation evolves
  4. Analysis of possible futures of a situation and potential consequences to assess the effectiveness of potential working strategies and to identify options and contingencies
  5. and revision of response plans based on lessons learnt from disasters
  6. Inter- and cross-organizational communication and sharing of existing knowledge, situational information, disaster scenarios, strategies, response plans and lessons learnt including communication to the public

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the grant agreement No. 740689.
